The illustrated story "Bonolon, the Forest Warrior," published by manga publisher Coremix Inc. (headquarters: Musashino City, Tokyo; CEO: Nobuhiko Horie) and distributed free of charge at Seven-Eleven and other convenience stores, celebrated its 20th anniversary on June 15, 2025. To commemorate this, the company will be launching new initiatives, including a free stage performance for parents and children and a "Bonolon Exhibition."
What is "Bonolon, the Forest Warrior"?
"Bonolon, the Forest Warrior" was launched in 2005 with the desire to "deliver stories to all children." With the support of Seven Bank, it is distributed free of charge at 7-Eleven and Denny's stores nationwide on the 15th of every even-numbered month. It aims to promote communication between parents and children through stories and to foster kindness and compassion. It is produced by Hara Tetsuo, the manga artist behind "Fist of the North Star." The original story is by Kitahara Seibou, and the illustrations are by Hikarin.
Four major projects ①Children invited for free! First stage performance in Kumamoto
The stage play "Forest Warrior Bonolon: The Legend of Nekodake" will be performed in Kumamoto. The performers will be the all-female opera company "Oclock Kumamoto Opera Company." Children up to junior high school age and their guardians will be invited to this performance free of charge.

4 Major Projects② "Always Together. Bonolon Exhibition" to be held in Kichijoji, Tokyo
The exhibition "Always Together. Bonolon Exhibition" will be held at Gallery Zenon in Kichijoji, Tokyo. In addition to being able to view the 121 volumes published so far, there will also be an exhibition of Hara Tetsuo's name (rough outline sketches) and panels featuring famous scenes. New merchandise such as stuffed toys will also be on sale. There will also be a Bonolon collaboration cafe.
