A young boy named Bukke is crying at the base of a giant cedar tree on the hill.
He said he was so scared of Mr. Chip's face, who always scolded him, that he didn't want to go to school.
After hearing the story, Bonolon gives Bukke a mysterious cookie that, if eaten, will allow him to see people's true faces.
In the classroom, Booke secretly takes a bite of a cookie. And then——?
