▼Synopsis▼
In his youth, Hijikata Toshizo, driven by a relentless pursuit of strength, repeatedly challenged dojos without a clear purpose. It was during this time that he challenged Kondo Isami of the Tennen Rishin-ryu Shieikan dojo, only to suffer a defeat. Realizing his own weakness, Hijikata knocked on the door of the Shieikan dojo in order to become stronger. This is a requiem depicting the friendship, conviction, and fierce youth of these passionate men who would later become the Shinsengumi, shaking Kyoto during the turbulent Bakumatsu period!
