■About "Kobito Zukan"

"Kobito Zukan" is a picture book and book series by Nabata Shizuka (published by Rokurinsha) that will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2026.
In the first picture book, the protagonist "I" discovers a mysterious creature called "Dwarf," which is neither an insect nor a plant.
The visuals are so impactful that they can be a bit shocking when you see them for the first time, but they have become a classic read in kindergartens, nursery schools, and elementary schools, and are loved primarily by children and their families who genuinely believe in the existence of "Kobito."
Following the "How to Catch a Dwarf" method introduced in books and video series, the game of "spot the dwarf" has become all the rage among children.
The question of whether or not they exist is often debated, causing concern for fathers and mothers all over Japan.
Instead of saying "there's no way they're there," try listening carefully and straining your eyes.
I'm sure you too can sense the mysterious presence of the little creature.
