With a total circulation of over 1 million copies, "Are There No Gals Who Are Kind to Otaku!?" is a popular series currently being serialized in Monthly Comic Zenon (Core Mix). This work is a romantic comedy about a geeky high school boy, Takuya Seo, who is attracted to two charming gals, the cool Kei Amane and the cheerful Kotoko Ijichi, through their hobbies and develops a relationship with them.

I'm Komura Masaru, and I'll be playing the role of Otaku-kun, also known as Seo Takuya!
What kind of otaku are you? I'm sure everyone is an otaku of some kind. I'm sure that's the case.
That's why I think there will be many moments where you can empathize with Seo-kun. I'm an otaku myself, so when I was acting, I thought, "This is almost me" (laughs). Be sure to also pay attention to the charming gals who are the polar opposite of such otaku characters.

Takuya Seo
An introverted, unassuming otaku high school boy who loves the girls' anime "Kiramon."
Nicknamed "Otaku-kun"
He tends to speak quickly when it comes to Kiramon. He's good at drawing, but not so good at studying and communicating. He has a hard time with gal girls. By chance, he becomes involved with his classmates, gals Amane Kei and Ijichi Kotoko.
Kei Amane: Yoshi Inagaki
I'm Inagaki Yoshi, and I'll be playing Amane Kei.
While everyone is unique and full of contrasts, Amane in particular shows a wide range of expressions.
She's a cool but fun girl.
I tried many different things to portray the charming Amane.
I hope you will pay attention not only to the otaku guy, but also to the precious relationship between the two gals and Amane Kei's direction, which can only be done in anime.

Kei Amane
A cool gal and Otaku-kun's classmate. She's one of the most beautiful girls in her grade.
She has a model-like figure and long, straight black hair. She is an only child and has strong likes and dislikes, especially vegetables.
He's tall and good at basketball, but he's not a member of any clubs. Despite his intelligent looks, he's not very good at studying. "Kiramon" insists that he's just in love with his younger sister Sayu and isn't an otaku, but...
Ijichi Kotoko: Yu Serizawa
The words "otaku" and "gal" are sometimes used in a negative sense.
However, this work has a deep understanding of both otaku and gals, and portrays both with care!
It's a wonderful work that makes you love and like every character. Kotoko is cute, kind to everyone, and sunny.
She's the kind of girl you'll fall in love with!

Kotoko Ijichi
A cheerful gal who is Otaku-kun's classmate. She has excellent communication skills and is good at studying, but she's not good at sports.
He tends to get close when he talks. He is the third of five siblings, with two older brothers and two younger brothers.
Because she has many siblings, she often acts as a mother figure and takes care of her younger brothers.

I'm Matsuda, in charge of character design for Otagyaru.
The characters are all compassionate and kind, so I drew them with the hope that they would bring a moment of healing to everyone.
As this was my first time designing characters, I struggled to imagine whether I could capture the cuteness that the original author had expressed in the anime, but as I worked on the characters day after day, they became like my own children to me. They all have such cute personalities!
I hope many people will come and see it!
