Fuka Koshiba will appear in the Sunday Theatre drama "The 19th Chart" as Mizuki Takino, an honest orthopedic surgeon with a strong sense of justice! This will be her first appearance in a Sunday Theatre drama, and her first time acting alongside Jun Matsumoto!

Fuka Koshiba makes her first appearance in Sunday Theatre! Fuka Koshiba plays Dr. Shinmei, an orthopedic surgeon.

Fuka Koshiba will play Mizuki Takino, a new orthopedic surgeon who works at the same general hospital as Tokushige, played by Matsumoto. Since her debut in 2011, Koshiba has been active in numerous dramas, movies, and stage plays. She is a talented actor who has steadily built her career by playing a wide range of roles, from comical to serious.

Recently, she also captivated viewers with her performance as the protagonist's childhood friend and legendary courtesan in the NHK Taiga drama "Berabou - Tsutae Eika no Yume Banashi". Koshiba, who is expected to make further leaps with her solid acting skills, will make her first appearance in a Sunday Theater in this work! Takino, played by Koshiba, is a new American doctor in his third year who became a specialist in orthopedic surgery after two years of internship at Usui General Hospital. She has a stronger sense of justice than most people, a straightforward personality, and hates crookedness and dishonesty. She is a woman who moves around briskly and has an athletic side. She has the ambition to "face each patient sincerely", but she is made to realize the gap between her ideal and reality and spends her days struggling. Meanwhile, Tokushige, a general practitioner, suddenly comes to Usui General Hospital. How will Tokushige's presence affect Takino? How will Takino change as a result of meeting Tokushige? This will be Koshiba's first time acting alongside Matsumoto, and expectations are high for what kind of combination the two will create.

A medical drama that depicts the theme of "examining people" through the sincere interaction with patients. What does it mean to "live" in modern society? The Sunday Theatre "19th Chart" will start in July and warmly pose such universal questions through daily medical treatment. Please look forward to it.

■Comment

I am very happy to be participating in the Sunday Theatre for the first time. This was the first time I learned about "general medicine."
Sometimes, this department is the last resort for patients who have been passed around from one department to another without knowing the cause of their condition.
This work does not feature any doctors with special abilities or who cure patients with genius techniques.
It's a story about a doctor who talks to his patients and faces them honestly and wholeheartedly. I'll do my best to make it a great piece, so please look forward to it.
