TBS's Sunday Theatre drama "The 19th Chart," starring Matsumoto Jun, will begin airing on Sunday, July 13th at 9pm (the first episode will be extended by 15 minutes). The original is the serialized manga "The 19th Chart: Tokushige Akira's Medical Questioning" (Zenon Comics/Core Mix) by Fujiya Katsuhito. The script is written by Tsubota Aya, who also wrote the "Kounodori" series. This is a new type of human medical entertainment set in the 19th new field of medicine, general medicine. Matsumoto plays Tokushige Akira, a general practitioner at Uodo General Hospital, who not only diagnoses illnesses through "medical questions," but also finds the "best" for patients by examining their minds and lifestyles, and even lends a helping hand to their way of life itself.
Naka Riisa will be making a guest appearance in the first episode!

It has now been decided that Naka Riisa will play one of these patients, Kuroiwa Momo, in the first episode. Naka left her agency in April, and this will be her first drama appearance since becoming a freelancer. This will be Naka's first time acting alongside lead actor Matsumoto in 12 years, since "Lucky Seven Special" (CX, 2013). Last year, Naka further increased his presence as an actor with his role in the Friday drama "Inappropriately Too Much!" and the NHK serial TV drama "Omusubi." Now independent and in a new environment, Naka faces a patient in this production who is suffering from physical and emotional pain. He played a doctor in TBS's "Resident: Five Interns" (2012) and Sunday Theatre's "Tokyo Mer: The Running Emergency Room" (2021), but how will he play a patient suffering from illness this time, and how will he end up seeing Tokushige, the general practitioner played by Matsumoto?
"I shouldn't take a break at this rate," we think, and end up pushing ourselves too hard, or we end up carrying a small "pain" on our own without relying on anyone... We've all had similar experiences in our busy daily lives. Naka's character, Momo, portrays the real, life-sized figures of people living in this modern society. This first episode is sure to be one in which everyone can empathize with the feelings and conflicts she faces.
This medical drama depicts the theme of "examining people" through the sincere interactions with patients. What does it mean to "live" in modern society? This universal question is warmly asked through daily medical treatment in the Sunday Theatre "The 19th Chart," which starts on Sunday, July 13th at 9pm. Please look forward to it!
Synopsis
Japan's medical system is highly advanced and subdivided into 18 specialized fields.
Each department has its own specialists who examine and treat patients, but there are also issues with patients who have complex symptoms and don't know which department to go to, and as a result, patients are passed around from department to department. The 19th department, the new department of general medicine, was created to solve these problems. However, the reality is that the existence and significance of this department is not yet well known, both in society and among doctors.
The decision was made to establish such a general medical department at the Fish General Hospital, which serves as the core of the local medical care of a certain town. The hospital director, Kitano Eikichi (Namase Katsuhisa), who unilaterally decided to establish the new general medical department, was eagerly awaiting the arrival of the general medical doctor.
At that time, a female patient, Kuroiwa Momo (Naka Riisa), who complained of pain all over her body, was being examined at the orthopedic department of the Usu General Hospital. Although the examination revealed that there was nothing abnormal, Momo could not hide her irritation at the 10-minute consultation. An elderly male patient, Yokobuki Junichi (Rokuhei Naomasa), who was also admitted to the orthopedic department, was also spreading his dissatisfaction with the doctors, giving the doctor in charge, Takino Mizuki (Oshiba Fuka), a hard time. Yokobuki was admitted to the hospital with a broken leg, but he complained that his throat was sore, and he even got angry at Takino, saying, "You're a doctor, but you can't even cure a cold?" However, for Takino, an orthopedic surgeon, sore throats are outside his specialty. Therefore, Takino, who can only leave it to another specialist, is unable to refute the patient's nasty remarks... With doctors pressed for time and patients dissatisfied with the doctors, the atmosphere at the Fish General Hospital is somewhat tense. Meanwhile, a man calling himself a "general practitioner" named Tokushige Akira (Matsumoto Jun) appears...!?
