[Project Name]

Next-Generation Manga Translator Training Project

【overview】

Demand for Japanese manga is growing worldwide, particularly in North America. While it peaked in 2022 and has been on a downward trend since then, it is projected to increase year-on-year in 2025 and continue to expand from 2026 onwards, driven by rising sales figures. However, in order to expand this market and distribute Japanese manga overseas, there is a shortage of manga artists, editors, and translators. The fragmented structure of production, editing, and translation needs to be fundamentally restructured, and a comprehensive training model is required. Therefore, this project aims to implement educational programs for manga artists and editors, and to cultivate translators who understand these processes.
