The long-awaited revival of the stage play "Mage the Cat's Eye" starring Fujiwara Norika, Gouriki Ayame, and Takashima Reiko has been announced for a re-run in three cities across Japan! [September] Fukuoka - Hakataza [October] Tokyo - Meijiza [November] Osaka - Shin-Kabukiza

In February 2024, the play "Mage the Cat's Eye" was the spectacular finale of the Meijiza Theatre's 150th anniversary commemorative performance. The production sadly came to a close amidst a huge response, with the theatre full of capacity every day, but after about two and a half years, it has been decided that the long-awaited revival will take place.
The three main characters of the story, the Cat's Eye thief sisters, will be played by Fujiwara Norika as Hitomi, Takashima Reiko as Rui, and Goriki Ayame as Ai, as in the previous performance, and the three actresses, who exude elegance and splendor, will once again be in the luxurious triple lead role.

In the stage production of "Mage the Cat's Eye," the story is set in the Meiji era, and the three Cat's Eye thief sisters will engage in a "vivid theft fest" with the addition of original characters from the stage version. The completely original story was written by Iwasaki Udai (Kamomentaru) and directed and co-written by Kawahara Masahiko, and is dynamically created with the expressive power of theatrical performance. Don't miss out on the even more evolved "Mage the Cat's Eye" as it travels to three cities across Japan: Fukuoka's Hakataza, Tokyo's Meijiza, and Osaka's Shin-Kabukiza! Details such as co-stars and performance dates will be announced in future updates.
We have also received comments from the cast expressing their enthusiasm for this film.

Norika Fujiwara

I feel truly happy and excited to be able to appear on stage as "Cat's♥Eye" again!
Three sisters with two identities: cafe owners by day, and phantom thieves called Cat's Eye by night. Hojo Tsukasa's legendary masterpiece "Cat's Eye" is a manga and anime that thrilled me as an adolescent, as I watched it with bated breath, immersed in the forbidden love between a thief and a detective, and the "true purpose" behind the three sisters' continued careers as phantom thieves. The story was adapted for the stage with the bold idea that "Cat's Eye" appears in the Meiji era! The previously hugely popular "Mage the Cat's Eye" was a stage production. The memory of the space filled with smiles and applause from the audience remains vivid in my mind! And now, we have received the exciting news that this performance will be performed not only at the Meijiza Theater in Tokyo, but also in other cities for the first time (please stay tuned for more information!).
This work is said to be a solid romantic comedy with a unique show featuring famous songs, action that makes full use of stage machinery, fashion that reflects the times, witty exchanges between the pursuer and the pursued, laughter, tears, mystery solving, and heart-pounding moments. Together with Reiko, her younger sister Ayame, and new colleagues, the company will work together to take on the challenge of creating an even more evolved stage production with respect and passion for the work. The Mysterious Girls will be there to capture your heart. We look forward to seeing you at each theater!

Ayame Goriki

We're back! My three beloved sisters and I are savoring the happiness of meeting you all again ♡ Whether it's the Showa era, the Meiji era (lol) or the Reiwa era, we're happy to be able to once again weave the cute and heartwarming story of "Cat's ♥ Eye." We hope to reach as many people as possible this time around! We're already feeling like Ai-chan ♪ lol

Reiko Takashima

When we performed the play in 2024, we took on many new challenges that we had never taken on before. I am very much looking forward to performing "Cat's Eye" again this time with Fujiwara Norika and Goriki Ayame. I would like to hone Rui's alluring charm and dignified side, and evolve even more than before. Once again, I will devote myself to making this a performance that will excite and entertain the audience, so I hope you will come and see it.

I was very happy when I heard that "Mage the Cat's Eye" would be performed again. It's a honeymoon between Meijiza and "Cat's Eye." I have many fond memories of how I pored over the original work without knowing what would happen, and how much fun I had once I started writing. I'll also never forget the energy that overflowed from the stage when I saw the performance. And above all, I can't wait to see those three again!

Directed and co-written by Masahiko Kawahara

I thought the casting for the premiere was miraculous in a sense, and now that those three are performing "Cat's Eye" again, it's truly a double miracle fantasy. And now, we can bring this miracle to so many cities.
I am overwhelmed with emotion as this was a performance that I have a deep attachment to. It is a spectacular performance that is full of entertainment from start to finish, so please come and see it at the theater. The entire company will make sure that you will not be disappointed.
